About me
Sharon Jennifer Selinger is a dynamic music educator, performer, and program leader with over 20 years of experience, currently serving as the Band Program Director, Fine Arts iPad Administrator, and Digital Music Librarian at Pine Crest Preparatory School. A forward-thinking leader in arts technology, she specializes in the integration of VR, AI, and digital library management to prepare young musicians for the future using/managing the Newzik software platform. In addition to teaching beginning music production, Mrs. Selinger integrates Modern Band philosophy, recently developing a Modern Band Club where students have the opportunity to integrate music technology into popular music and work on building self-led rehearsals and performances.Sharon is a frequent contributor to the music education community, with recent presentations at NAfME (2024), FCIS (2023, 2025), and FMEA (2023), where she shared expertise on rehearsal strategies for chamber wind performance. Her recent accolades include being named a 2025 American Musicological Society K-12 Award recipient and receiving a 2026 LBJ Library “Truer to Ourselves” Award where she will study the history of migration across America and how to build connections into music curriculum. Currently pursuing a Doctorate in Instructional Technology, Sharon also serves as a professional french horn player with the Miami City Ballet, Symphony of the Americas, and Orchestra Miami.
