About me
Known for founding and creating the STEM Beats program, Aaron began his teaching career in Holyoke, Massachusetts, an underserved urban district where he later became the music department head.
Aaron grew up in New Jersey and struggled in school, always feeling disconnected from teachers. His school’s music program wasn’t strong, but it gave him a reason to show up. Drumming became his source of confidence, and his involvement in drumlines and Drum Corps such as The Cadets, United Percussion, and Jersey Surf kept him on track. He went on to study music education at UMass Amherst, and when he took his first education class, he realized his constant struggle as a student had become his superpower. Because learning never came easily to him, he learned how to break concepts down and make learning accessible to all students.
Now relocated to Philadelphia, Aaron remains dedicated and passionate about serving urban communities. He teaches and supports schools in building strong, equitable music programs while pursuing school leadership.
