About me

Javier José Mendoza is an Associate Professor and Symphony Orchestra Conductor at the Florida International University Wertheim School of Music, and enjoys a varied career in music performance and higher education. He recently collaborated with reggaeton artist Yandel, which resulted in a 2026 Grammy nomination for Best Música Urbana Album, and gave high-profile performances of Rubén Blades’ Maestra Vida and Celia Sinfónica: A Symphonic Tribute to the Queen of Salsa.
