Dr. Joseph Abramo is an educator with 24 years of experience and is currently a professor of music education at UConn where he teaches graduate and undergraduate courses. He has eight years of teaching middle and high school experience in New York State, where he taught concert bands, jazz band, general music, music theory, and popular music courses. Joe regularly conducts professional development sessions, clinics, and workshops for teachers around the region and country. Joe has also published over 40 articles, book chapters, and books and regularly presents his research nationally and internationally, including the book,
Music Teacher Evaluation: A Guide for Teachers in the U.S. published by Oxford University Press. He is Editor of the
Bulletin of the Council for Research in Music Education. Joe is a classical saxophonist, popular music guitarist, and records electronic music under the pseudonym
