About me
Mario de Inocencio is the founder and director of Musiquea|Formación en Música Moderna, a private music school based in Santander, northern Spain. Mario began his musical studies at the age of nine when he enrolled in piano lessons at a small school in Santander. During his adolescence, his interests shifted, and while continuing his piano studies at the Jesús de Monasterio Conservatory in Santander, he also turned to the electric guitar. He initially learned to play the instrument on his own, then with several private teachers, and later at the Escuela de Música Creativa in Madrid, where he furthered his training in Aural Training, Rhythm, and Modern Harmony. After completing his studies in Marine Biology at the University of Miami, he also trained as a Sound Technician, attending various courses focused on music production, sound recording and mixing. This led him to work in the recording studio with artists such as Hombres G, Melendi or El Canto del Loco. Professionally, he has released several albums with various bands, including "Algunos Hombres Buenos" (EMI Spain 2007) and "Belgrado" (Sony Music Spain 2011). As a session/touring musician, he has worked for over 15 years with acts such as La Sonrisa de Julia, Billy Boom Band, and Marcos Cao. In 2010, he founded MUSIQUEA | Formación en Música Moderna, a modern music school located in Santander focused on learning through enjoyment, open to anyone interested in learning music, regardless of age or musical background. At Musiquea Mario teaches guitar and coordinates a team of 12 teachers, having served more than 1,500 students so far. In October 2023, he opened a second branch of the school. During all these years in his role as an educator, he has collaborated with institutions such as the Botín Centre and the University of Cantabria, leading various workshops related to musical composition and the emotional aspects behind that process. From 2020 to 2022, he combined his work as director of Musiquea with that of Coordinator of the Musical Education Area at Escenario Santander, a public multi faceted center devoted to music in the city of Santander.
