About me
Dr. Christopher Burns is a music educator and arts-education leader whose work bridges creativity, technology, and access. As the Fine & Performing Arts Resource Specialist for the School District of Osceola County (FL), he supports K–12 music, theatre, visual art, and dance programs across a diverse and rapidly growing community. A guitarist, drummer, and long-time classroom teacher, he brings a practical, teacher-centered perspective to every initiative he leads.Dr. Burns focuses heavily on integrating popular music, modern band, and music-technology tools into traditional programs, expanding opportunities for students to create, perform, and explore their musical identities. He also develops districtwide professional learning, creative partnerships, and CTE-aligned pathways in audio and music production. His recent work centers on using artificial intelligence to free up the time teachers need to make and teach music. He investigates how AI can streamline planning, support diverse learners, generate materials, simplify data tasks, and clear space for real music-making. Rather than treating AI as a shortcut, he frames it as a creative partner that strengthens—not replaces—teachers.
