About me
I’m an Assistant Professor of Instruction in Voice at Ohio University’s School of Music, where I teach singers in the Popular Music and Music Therapy programs. My work centers on contemporary and commercial vocal technique, popular music pedagogy, and helping singers build artistic confidence and self-direction. I also serve as Guest Faculty with the Contemporary Commercial Music Vocal Pedagogy Institute, where I get to work with voice teachers, performers, and educators from the U.S. and abroad. Outside of teaching, I’m a performer, songwriter, and artist-development coach. My original music includes my debut album ANIMA, and my work has been featured on NPR and PBS. I’ve contributed writing and pedagogy work to Action-Based Approaches in Popular Music Education and The Vocal Athlete (3rd ed.), and I’m the author of A Singer’s Guide to Finding Your Style and Artistic Voice. At the heart of all of this, I love helping singers and creatives grow with more curiosity, courage, self-trust, and sustainability.
